Should Women REALLY Wear Men’s Fragrances?

Here are 6 men's fragrances that I, as a woman, LOVE to wear.
Thanks to my buddy Andrew for letting me borrow some of his bottles for this show and tell. Enjoy!

  1. Oh yes absolutely! I love men’s fragrances. I either go for fresh, summery scents or gourmand scents. My favorites that I love to wear are Mugler A*men Havane, Michael Jordan Legend (amazing and super cheap), Parfums de Marley Herod (one of my holy grails), Rochas Man (another amazing scent and super affordable), Givenchy Pi (one of my hidden gems sooo sooo good), Kouros Body by Yves Saint Laurent (another affordable hidden gem), and Y by Yves Saint Laurent (currently my favorite summer scent). I love perfumes sooo much! I have around 200 bottles and counting!

  2. I agree. I have synaesthesia, and I actually prefer to wear male fragrances rather than many female fragrances. The ones I like best are 1 million, David Beckham instinct and brave soul mail. All fragrances should be labelled unisex anyway. I have had a few people say to me, why are you wearing mans smell it’s for men. A fragrance is a fragrance, where as most women might feel good wearing perfume, I feel good wearing mail fragrances. I do have some female fragrances as well, but I cannot stand perfume that are far two feminine. If you kind of know what I mean

  3. I tend not to like fougere or aromatic fragrances on me, but I recently have found a few niche men’s fragrances that I love and will absolutely purchase, like By Kilian Straight to Heaven. I say, everyone should wear whatever the hell they think smells amazing, regardless of the target market!

  4. Elixir des Merveilles is one that is marketed for women and, as a man, I absolutely love! 😀

There's just a giant overlap between men's and women's fragrances. But, for sure, there are scents that I wouldn't like women to smell like. An example could be Armani Code.

  5. Why Not. Wear what you like no matter who it is marketed toward. Sure, there are a few fragrances that I find too masculine for my personal tastes but if another woman loves it and wears it, then I say rock that fragrance! Same goes for men. If you want to wear a fragrance marketed to women, wear it!

  6. Culture can dictate which notes are masculine and feminine. The BBC’s article, “The Soul of the Rose” states that in Middle Eastern countries rose attar is considered a masculine scent. Personally I enjoy wearing Dior Gris Montaigne. I also love L’Heure Bleue and Chanel Coco EdP.

  7. Scent is personal. If you lift the cap and sniff, and you have a positively exiting emotional reaction, you should spritz it on , walk around and see how it wears on you. If you can’t stop sniffing yourself, go get it. Scent makes you feel good. It brings back memories

  8. Boredom with women's designer fragrances have turned me toward men's and your suggestions are timely, so thanks. Recently, I've found myself drawn to Tom Ford's Anthracite and Grey Vetiver. I think men and women can wear what they like but keep in mind, there are work appropriate scents where the environment can be less open-minded and unintended reputations can be formed quietly behind your back without your knowing. Have you ever mis-read a person based on a scent they wore? Most people only speak out if they really like the scent or they really don't but they still create an image of a person based on their scent which may or may not be in line with the image the wearer wants to project.

  9. Yes, if it smells good, why not? I think that perfumers have embraced the unisex trend anyway. I love your choices, but I've not tried any of these yet so I put them on my list 🙂 Here are some that I really like – quite a few of them are gourmand/ish:

    Amouage Jubilation for Men
Annick Goutal Sables – love this a lot, more than Bond New Haarlem
Aquolina Blue Sugar – might be my favorite Aquolina
CK Obsession for Men – vintage is better
Creed Aventus & Green Irish Tweed
Dior Homme & Dior Homme Intense
    Dior Eau Sauvage
    D'Orsay Le Dandy
Franck Boclet Tobacco – love this one! Very gourmand
    Givenchy Pi
Guerlain L'Instant pour Homme Extreme & Habit Rouge
    Halston Man Amber – yum!
    Hermes Terre d'Hermes
    Lalique Encre Noire
    Lattafa Raghba Wood Intense
    Lubin Idole for Men
    Nabeel Macho Man
Ralph Lauren Polo Supreme Oud – awesome!
Van Cleef & Arpels Midnight in Paris
    Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb
    YSL Kouros for Men

  10. Great video ! I am familiar with almost all I just nee the try Givenchy and Gucci . My favorite men cologne is Cacharel pour homme used it for man years so very good scent. I also like grey flannel.
I have a question do you have instagram page or are you in the fragrance groups ?

  11. Yes, I have D&G The One (women’s), but I love wearing my husband’s D&G The One (men’s). I think TF Tobacco Vanille has traditionally masculine vibe, but I LOVE it and feel very sexy when I where it. It’s all about how fragrances work on your skin and how they make you feel.
