Here's another make-up look using my original Biba make-up from the early 70's. This time I'm using the limited edition “Birds of Paradise” collection, but rather than creating a totally period look I'm using the bright oranges, lime greens and yellows in a more modern way. I'm doing a rounder eye shape and higher blush as a nod to the period, but I am applying the make-up to create a more contemporary look.
I hope you enjoy it! Would love to hear your comments and thoughts x

I can’t guarantee that all of the make-up and skincare products I recommend will suit you. I only use products I personally think are good having tried them on myself and my clients but everyone's skin is different and it's possible to be allergic to anything. Wherever possible, test products out on yourself before purchasing.
I only feature products I like, or want to try. The products I use in these videos are either purchased by me or sent to me by make-up companies to use in my professional capacity as a make-up artist for fashion and celebrity photo shoots, red carpet etc. I am also sent products by many of the top magazines to judge for awards.
I do not accept payment and am not sponsored to make any of the films on this channel. Some of the links under the videos and blog posts on my site are affiliated however and as stated before, I only feature products I like, or want to try.

the level of pigmentation in these vintage Biba products is off the charts
Claudia is ethereal
This look feels perfect for the fall.
I wish you would come to NYC, so I could meet you and take you to lunch, then go shopping in Bloomingdales 😉
Still one of my all time favorite makeup tutorial on youtube. You're an amazing artist!
Wow these are the most interesting and artistic demos I’ve ever seen! Thank you
This makeup look is so stunning!
I collect vintage and antique vanity sets and makeup as well! It makes me happy and I enjoy it. But you're right, it is prudent to not use old makeup as rule of thumb. While vintage cosmetics are reasonably easy to locate when you know where to look, it's hard to stop yourself from giving them a go just for fun. But, the ingredients over time can and have broken down into other chemicals / compounds that can actually be dangerous, and if opened at all even for photos such as on ebay, they even cause infections which can lead to anything from acne to sepsis to Necrotizing fasciitis. How do I know? My husband is a medical doctor and he's seen cases of skin infections caused by BACTERIA from situations of the skin. (He has a patient currently whose face is something like Freddy Kruger horror movie due to Necrotizing fasciitis.)
Cosmetics, especially vintage, the older they are, are breeding grounds for bacteria and while one may scrape off that outer layer and sanitize, that bacteria has been breeding for several decades, and is all through the product – not just exclusive to that outer layer. If one is going to use VTG cosmetics please consider:
1. Do ensure you have ZERO acne lesions, pimples, whiteheads or spots of any variety on or near the application site.
2. DO attempt to sanitize your skin and the product it's self both before and after use.
3. DO NOT apply said products near or on areas where skin is sensitive.
4. Do not use VTG products at all if your immune system is at all compromised.
5. Do not use if you're currently using a topical which causes skin thinning or sensitivity such as a tretinoin or retinoid or at all if you are currently using Accutane.
6. Do not exfoliate your skin prior to using VTG cosmetics. This sloughing can open skin to infection more readily.
7. Remember that even "new old stock" or "sealed new vintage" cosmetics are still compromised due to age and breakdown of said seal quality over time.
8. If you're going to play with VTG cosmetics, test an area on your skin first, like a patch test to gauge allergic reaction. Again, this is because of the breakdown of the ingredients in the product it's self. 24 to 48 hours is recommended. Apply some, leave it on a short while and remove and watch the area for possible reaction. This doesn't rule out the possibility of reaction or infection, however it does sometimes prevent one from experiencing an entire facial reaction with a patch test.
Absolutely gorgeous
The model is soooooo fucking pretty. She has the most perfect skin ive ever seen!
Horrible, awful
A cosmetics company should create a Biba line!
The girl is so beautiful O_O
I am just rewatching this now. What brand is out now that I could get a similar colour pay off from?
The younger woman in the video is very attractive!
Why are there more pigmented than the makeup we see today?
want!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really miss your vintage make-up videos, which I always enjoy a lot!
I loved this look yet i wasn't a fan of the green with the copper, it added a coldness when this look is warm, I think a metallic or a matte gold would look good or even a yellow toned pearl shade, altogether it made a lovely look for red heads and I will try this.
claudia the model is gorgeous
I like your blazer together with your blue eye liner 🙂
This colors are amazing how is it that no one has recreate this makeup colors. I need to buy this makeup
so pretty and captivating. I love love this look and the model is absolutely lovely !
so beautiful makes me want to try and recreate it.
If i saw this model bare-faced in the street, she'd no doubt stop me in my tracks. She's gorgeous.
Also, I just love this series of videos and I'm glad I found them on your channel! It's so interesting and lovely.
as an artist i would love to have claudia as a muse!!! she got that look outta fine art portraits
are these makeup made recently or made decades ago? Im just curious if its like put on the shelf for very long
Lisa, would you be interested in re-creating this look with currently available products? I wonder what would be a dupe for the yellow toned peachy blush, as many of the peachy ones today all seem to be on the coral side instead of yellow
she looks like a doll!!
What is the BIBA make up made from? Why is it so pigmented for that matter? I'm curious as to what was used in old vintage make-up though.
okay but where are people finding pristine makeup from almost 100 years ago
wow I just discovered you. so impressed
again this is so interesting!!
LOVE! You're such an inspiration, Lisa!
This is so fantastic…!Why are the currently marketed pigments so much less riche than these? I have similar colouring to Claudia, & would love to find colours with such ease of application & blending. I noticed that other commenters here have spoken of the problems of the current models of makeup for their deep skin, & how much better makeup like the above demonstrated would be for them. I can say the same from the opposite direction : Due to my very pale & very thin skin, I easily injure, bruise, stretch, & wash out, from the usual items made for eyes — so much so, in fact, that I often use lip products as eyeliners & eyeshadows when on my own as opposed to a photoshoot, during which I often have pain on the job due to the fragility of my skin & the amount of manoeuvring required to get the makeup to work on me.
For the sake of the darkest & lightest of us alike : Bring back these classic pigments vibrantes!
the music at the end really startled me haha. your voice is so beautiful and calm so it was unexpected
Im in love with this look !!!
Pigmentations is absolutely unreal!
I would wear this look in a second
stunning!
I would absolutely love to see you do these looks with the tools they had to use back then, just to get the feeling of how they created their looks without all of the luxury we have today.
